Reading:

Throughout the year, I test the students to determine their reading level. It enables me to meet your child when he or she is at. 

Grades will be taken on your child’s reading level, as well as workbook pages completed and some reading centers.

For doing their reading homework, your child will get to visit the treasure chest once their reading sheet is full.

Know High Frequency Words

Work Out New Words

Use Various Strategies to Read (sounding out, looking at pictures for 

             clues, hearing if it makes sense, etc.)

Read Well Orally

Identify Setting and Characters

Retell the Story Read

Spelling, handwriting, and language are incorporated throughout the day.
