Nothing better than spring

Art I projects

This year the Art I students worked more in-depth on value drawing. They had the same picture to work on at first, then they picked their own pictures to render in pencil and show value.

A unit in ceramics for Art I involved faces. Students had to research what type of faces they would like to put on a 4” tile. Once this was decided they had to sketch the faces creating a focal point and very little negative space. Then  they used clay by building or carving to represent those faces. They presented them on painted boards.

This year the art I students had an opportunity to make a clay animation movie which is not something they will normally do. They made storyboards, planned their characters, and found music to complement each film. Enjoy !

Art II &III experimented with oil pastels and color this year. They picked their favorite pet and then rendered the picture while using the full spectrum of colors available in the oil pastel box.
