Course
Description: This class introduces students to
the law and our judicial system. It will
show how laws that govern business are relevant to students in their everyday
lives. Topics include: settling disputes, the court system, crimes
against people and property, criminal justice system, torts, juvenile justice,
and contract law.
Textbook: Law for Business and Personal Use,
17th Edition, Adamson, John E., Thomson South-Western, 2006.
Method of
Teaching:
Presentation of the lecture material is taught via the use of a computer and
television utilizing powerpoint software. Activities, case scenarios and projects are
completed on an individual and group basis.
Internet and technology skills are incorporated into the
curriculum. Field trips are used to show
the relevancy of the curriculum.
Grading
Method: Students are
graded on both individual work and group activities along with the project as
presented. Students will be assessed by
written tests and hand-on activities.
Students in business classes will utilize the district grading scale. 100-90-A 89-80-B 79-70-C
69-60-D 59 and below-F
