Course
Description: Computer
Technology is designed to introduce students to four areas of knowledge. First of all, students will learn about
operating systems and hardware.
Secondly, they will learn how to create, edit and revise documents
utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation
software. The students will also learn
to multi-task. The third area of
knowledge is networking and the Internet.
The final area of knowledge will include social and ethical issues in
computing.

Textbook: Microsoft Office 2003; Pasewark and Pasewark,
2005.
Method of Teaching: Various means of
presentation are used to teach students concepts including demonstration on
television, PowerPoint slide shows, step-by-step group instruction, and
lecture. Additionally, hands-on
activities follow for student practice.
Grading Method: Students are graded on completing individual
projects as presented. Student
assessment includes both written and hands-on application projects. The district grading scale determines grades
for this class.
