Family Studies—This class is to prepare students for the career of parenthood. What do we need to know before becoming parents? How do we guide children to exhibit positive behaviors?

Nutrition and Meal PlanningThis class is designed for the advanced cook to learn more about nutrition and how the world feeds their population. We will discuss countries, foods native to the country, and the influence these countries have had on the United States.

Food Science—basic chemistry knowledge is taught using food as a means of application for better understanding.

Nutrition and Wellness—a freshman required class to teach students how their habits affect their health now and in the future.

Introduction to Human ServicesThis is a freshmen FACS class further exploring the vast areas within the field of family and consumer sciences. Self-esteem, personal hygiene, clothing, and nutrition and wellness are areas we will explore within this class.

Consumer Education—a senior required class that allows students to learn many of the skills they will need as they begin life on their own—checkbook, taxes, utility bills, food, clothing, housing, transportation needs, etc.

Community Service

1st Hour—2nd Semester

3rd Hour—2nd Semester

Housing and Interior Design—This class is designed to teach students the principles and elements of design to prepare them to decorate living and working spaces. Students will create blueprints for their dream home.

5th Hour—2nd Semester

Human Growth and Development—This class is to further prepare students for parenthood. What tasks can children complete at various ages? When can children really walk? Run? Read?
